Follow along with photos below as they grow... it's amazing how fast they change.
Did you know the average gestation period for a dog is just 63- 65 days? Yep, not very long concidering Standard Poodles have an average of 9 to12 puppies in each littter.
It doesn't take long for the puppies to be born. Two months goes by fast.
Then before you know it, 'the little red-heads' are here!
Just born in this photo. Cedar, a proud Mama!
4 days old. (above)
All the pups and mom are doing great! Eating well and growing.
10 days old.
Sleeping up side down! He kinda looks like a smiling hippopotomus.
4-29-2016 The puppie's eyes started to open yesterday. They are two weeks old now! (above)
We hold an electric grooming clipper on the pups when very young - this will make grooming more enjoyable once they are older.
"Sniffing" out the bottle... (above) Even before thier eyes open, they can 'smell us' when we go into thier pen and start looking for the bottle.
After they eat, they are out... but just for awhile, as they are only re-charging their batteries.

5 weeks old. (above and below) Grand daughters, Joslyn and hazel stopped by to see the puppies. The pups are not really interested in the bottle anymore. They have all of their little 'tiger teeth' in!
Oh yah, they have teeth!
5 weeks old (above) It's not uncommon to see our grand-daughters in the 'dog house' with the puppies. :)
Getting all the towels and toys with "puppy scent" for the trip to their new homes. These items help with the transisiton to thier new homes.
At 8 weeks old, the puppies are ready to go to thier new homes. In most cases, all of our puppies are spoken for prior to being born. So if you are looking for a new family member / best companion ever, you'd best reserve a puppy sooner than later. Check out the information on how to reserve a puppy by clicking on the tab to the right, "Reserving a Puppy... or Two".
This beautiful guy has his 'toy-in-mouth' and ready to go home to his furever family!

Oh what it's like to sit with 9 to12 red-headed poodle puppies... all at one time... crawling all over you.
Puppy eyes will start to open at 8-10 days old.
Puppy ears, they start hearing at around 13-17 days old.
Then the fun begins. They start walking more and checking out the world.
You'll notice the coloring changes from photo to photo. This happens with every liltter. The puppies are red in color. The above photo doesn't show thier true color very well.
"puppy feet" Just adorable.
10 days old.
Are they kissing? or what!?? lol
10 days old.
Two weeks old. (above)
They LOVE their bottles! We 'supplement feed' all of our puppies. (we use a recipie of puppy milk replacement milk and goat milk) Supplement feeding makes life easier on the mom and the babies. It is also the 'key' in having the puppies bond to 'us humans'. Nobody goes hungry at our house. :)
And they eat in any positioin, as long as they have the bottle!

5 weeks old. 5-20-2016 Exploring the outdoors. The puppies have dog crates to play iin at an early age - this helps with 'crate training'. They actually love sleeping in the crates and play, "how many puppies can fit into the crate to take a nap".
The fresh air outside sure does make the puppies sleep well at night.
Anybody hungry?
5 weeks old. (above)
Going through the dog door, two a breast. When let out in the morning, it's like a motorcross (dirt track) races where they all take off at the same time and have to funnel through a small opening. All you see is puppy fur and feet.
The puppies are introduced to the dog-door at about 4-1/2 weeks old. It doesn't take them long to catch on. Maybe 5 minutes!
Testing the new toys to see how far they will stretch.
